Health AI Product Owner (all genders)
Own the product that turns biomarker logic and supplement science into Tortuga Sense’s personal health companion.
As Product Owner you run sense.ai day to day. You are the link between medical expertise and software development: you translate biomarker logic, supplement science and customer needs into clear requirements and work packages, and you make sure what is delivered is correct, safe and useful. You will be employed by Tortuga Sense AG (https://tortuga-sense.com) and work closely with the Medical Lead, the sense.ai Strategic Lead and us, the Purpur Lab, as the development team.

sense.ai is the personal health companion of Tortuga Sense. It turns blood values, personal goals and lifestyle information into a personalized, reasoned supplement recommendation and explains it in plain language. Recommendations are derived from a medically governed rule set; a language model explains them, backed by a curated knowledge base. The product supports prevention and wellbeing. It does not diagnose or treat. The first version is built from October 2026 to January 2027, piloted with 50 to 100 customers and partners from February to March 2027, and launched in April 2027.
What awaits you
• A key role in building a new health product. From the first version to market launch.
• Real product ownership, short decision paths and direct exchange with medical experts, leadership and our development team at the Purpur Lab.
• A dynamic start-up environment at the Purpur Hub in Zug with room for your own ideas.
• A flexible, hybrid working model.
Your responsibilities
• Own the product backlog: define features, user stories and acceptance criteria and prioritise them against the agreed scope
• Translate the medical rule set (biomarkers, thresholds, supplement and dosage logic) into precise, testable specifications together with the Medical Lead
• Design the customer journey with the team: questionnaire and consents, lab report upload, recommendation, report dialogue and history
• Help maintain the knowledge base and select, check and reference scientific sources. Review the explanations generated by the language model for scientific accuracy, clarity and compliance (no diagnosis, no therapy recommendation)
• Steer sprints together with us at the Purpur Lab, perform functional acceptance of all deliveries and coordinate medical sign-off before release
• Plan and run internal testing on real cases and the closed pilot with customers and external partners (e.g. medical practices, pharmacies)
• Make sure requirements reflect regulatory boundaries (non-medical-device positioning, health claims) and data-protection needs (consents, sensitive health data)
• Monitor the sense.ai budget against agreed funding, and flag deviations early
What you bring
• Background in life sciences, nutrition science, pharmacy, biomedicine, medicine or comparable practical experience in a health or supplement setting
• Solid knowledge in at least one of: dietary supplements and micronutrients, prevention/longevity or laboratory diagnostics. You can read a blood panel and understand biomarkers and reference ranges, or clearly bring the readiness to get up to speed here quickly with the Medical Lead
• Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or in a comparable role, ideally in digital health, health tech or diagnostics
• You write clear requirements and user stories and work with developers in an agile setting
• A structured, hands-on way of working; you take decisions and hold scope
• Very good English, written and spoken. English is our working language across the team. German is a strong advantage, in particular for the Swiss market and partners
Nice to have
• Experience with lab data, LIS/lab report formats or health data standards (e.g. LOINC, HL7/FHIR)
• Experience with AI-based products, rule engines or clinical decision logic
• Knowledge of the regulatory framework for supplements, health claims and medical device software in Switzerland and the EU (e.g. MDR, revFADP/GDPR)
• Experience running pilots with health professionals, pharmacies or consumers
What we offer you
• Plenty of personal responsibility and real product ownership in a young, dynamic environment
• Direct collaboration with medical experts, leadership and us, the experienced development team at the Purpur Lab
• Short decision paths and room to shape the product
• Working at the Purpur Hub in Zug at Grienbachstrasse 17
• Market-standard employment conditions, flexible working hours and the possibility of home office
• A collegial working atmosphere on equal footing, and your four-legged friend is warmly welcome in the office
